A Horse with No Name

I have a embarrassing confession to make.

Until I read this today, I didn’t realize that the title to that America song was “Sister Golden Hair.” I’ve heard that song forever, but never really caught the actual title.

Do you all have songs that you didn’t know the real title to until much, much later?

There are plenty of songs with me, but here's an interesting related tidbit: for ten years, I thought the name of MxPx's drummer was Yuri Riley. I've hung out with him, written about him and have always thought it was Riley. Well, last week I found out it was Ruley. Cue the Charlie Brown "good grief" look.

I knew this one, but I frequently misunderstand song lyrics. I sent my kids into hysterics because I thought in the Green Day sng "Warning" instead of the actual words "Is the cop or am I the one whose really dangerous" I thought he was saying "Is the cop or the mime" - which made sense to me because you can't trust a mime.

But about that article - I don't see where the author is getting the whole wedding backstory. All I read in those lyrics is that the guy had a down day, and that he likes having a woman around sometimes. I think the rest is a bit of a stretch.

The Who's song "Baba O'Riley" is not called "Teenage Wasteland". Took me a while to figure that one out.
